HISTORICAL BUILDINGS:

One of the oldest buildings in Oudtshoorn was constructed in the 1800's. One can say it was carved into the history of the town. Each house, mainly ostrich feather palaces, was designed with great professionalism and attention to detail. They were sculptures of what was ones known the ostrich feather boom.

The Absa Klein Karoo National Arts Festival (Absa KKNK) is a South African Section 21 Company established in 1995. The arts and activities supporting the arts are the Absa KKNK core business. The Absa KKNK strives towards the mission to establish the arts as an indispensable cornerstone of our South African nation.
