South Africa’s leading bank and main sponsor of the Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees, Absa and DSTV’s first dedicated
Afrikaans children's channel, KooWee, have joined forces to provide festival goers with a safe play area for children.
Parents can soak up the entertainment of this year’s festival and have peace of mind while their children play at the
Absa KooWee Kinderhoekie (Absa KooWee Kids Corner). This is not only a first but also a long awaited service which will
mean that children no longer need to be left at home.
The Absa KooWee Kinderhoekie will employ 20 professional childminders from the Klein Karoo Bronne Sentrum in Outshoorn
who will be looking after no more than 100 children at a time.
The Absa KooWee Kinderhoekie will be accessible from 08h00 till 17h00 daily for the duration of the festival. To ensure
that children are well cared for and to warrant good health and safety practice within the area, tickets are limited and
available from the 31st March from the Absa KooWee Kinderhoekie at only R30 per day.
Upon arrival children will be registered and receive a goody bag before being whisked off to meet some of their favourite
KooWee characters. There are also scheduled activities for each day which range from song and dance to watching the latest
shows. Added to this fun is also a jungle gym, sandpit and jumping castle.
Children also have the opportunity to participate in one of the two craft workshops that will take place each day, at an
additional cost.
