Wine tasting

Wine tasting at Karusa Vineyard and Wines
Our tasting facility is an intimate and rustically styled room dating from the late 1800's that leads out to our winegarden - this gives our tasting facility a warm and inviting feel. We have a personal and interactive approach that makes our customers come back for more. We use quality stemware, correct refrigeration and lighting and ample information to help you make your choice when buying our unique wines as easy as possible.

Craft Beers at Karusa

Beer at Karusa Vineyard and Wines
Made by nature - nurtured by man.

Karusa not only produces fine wine, but is also credited by pioneering the first full grain microbrewery in the Klein Karoo.

With the seasonality of the winemaking process, it gave way for time and space to produce craft beer for the big volume of European tourists that flock to Oudtshoorn. The soft fresh and unpolluted water from the Swartberg catchment area proved to be perfect for clean, clinical, fruit driven and refreshing styles of Ale produced at Karusa.

The extreme heat of Oudtshoorn's summer is the perfect time to quench your thirst with our Long Neck Blonde session beer; kicking back with a Karoo Tapas platter. For a more serious complex ale, try our Premium Draught ~ The Karusa Zwartberger. And for the cold Karoo winters there is nothing more satisfying than our espresso infused chocolate stout called The Caveman's Dry Stout ~ perfect in front of our fireplace at the tasting facility.

Lunch at Karusa

The Karoo Victorian-style homestead and relaxed atmosphere creates that tranquil "Karoo feeling". Mix and match your Karoo Tapas lunch selection, perfectly complimented by a crisp white or rose - perfect for those warm Karoo days. From ostrich carpachio and Karoo olives with fresh bread and a variety of cheese - a sensual experience of the Karoo with locally produced delicatessen being used throughout.
