This week kicked off with a visit to our new hosts for the registration weekend, the prologue and the stage 1 in Mossel Bay. In 2015 the prologue takes on an urban time trial style on the walkways, beaches and tracks lining this beautiful coastal town.
The venue in Mossel Bay is fabulous, the route hugs the Southern Coastline of this vast continent with riders literally sleeping 50 meters from the water, running past the St Blaize Lighthouse and crossing the same beach where Bartolomeu Dias first set foot on African soil back in 1488.
Milkwood School, steeped in tradition will host us for this year; their school buildings dating back to 1910 will form the centre of the race venue with restaurants and bars lining the rocky Point area where the start and finish of the prologue will take place.
The response to the major changes to our route was overwhelming, combined with the early route launch this made for a phenomenal rise in entry numbers and we will reach the 250 team limit fairly soon.
