The Swartberg Pass is Closed

The Swartberg Pass has been closed since Sunday, 9 April after a cloudburst caused widespread damage to the surface of the road on the Prince Albert side of the Pass.

Kenny Africa, Western Cape Provincial Traffic Chief, stated that it will be "a long time" until the flood damaged surface could be repaired.

Gamkaskloof ("Die Hel") is still accessible from the Oudtshoorn side.
