Nursing Unit Manager
(Head of Nursing Department)
Position Summary & Duties
The appointed Registered Nurse will form part of the care team and will, among other responsibilities, be responsible for:
- The ongoing holistic assessment of residents, including their physical, mental, and social well-being.
- Planning, implementing, and monitoring person-centred care plans for all residents within Millenium Park, whether carried out directly or indirectly.
- Consulting with and coordinating a multidisciplinary team responsible for managing and reviewing residents’ care plans.
- Managing and participating in teams delivering care in a 24/7 environment.
- Performing duties and responsibilities in accordance with his/her professional scope of practice, including but not limited to:
- Managing a skilled workforce
- Medication management in accordance with prescriptions and regulations
- Accurate reporting and record-keeping in line with organisational policies and legal requirements
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while remaining composed and compassionate.

Requirements:
- Registered with SANC (South African Nursing Council)
- Knowledge and experience in Alzheimer’s and dementia care will be advantageous
- Proven work experience in geriatric care
- Valid driver’s licence
- Computer literate
- Must be willing to work shifts
